5 out of 5 Exceeding expectations!!

Roy and his family’s place exceeds expectations. The family went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and memorable. I arrived early in the morning, wilted from travel, and Roy’s mother offered an elaborate breakfast. The space is immaculately clean, comfortable, and a nice respite from the busy streets of Santiago. The location is perfect, a close walk to most everything in Santiago. My stay with Roy and his family felt much more like a heart-warming visit with loved ones than simply a business transaction. At the same time, they respected my space and privacy. I will most definitely return to Casa Real on my next visit to Santiago.

5 out of 5 This family is warm and gracious.

This family is warm and gracious. Roy speaks excellent English. The house Casa Real isn’t far from the center of Santiago. The room is spacious, with a little extra room with a table and chairs. As is usual in Cuban homes, the windows shutters open into the house, not the outside. This leads to loss of aural privacy, though less in this case than in all the other Casa Particular I stayed in Cuba. I stayed in 7 different places, and all but one had this same set-up.
